This is a flower with a sunset as the background on the last day of spring. Was stuck for an idea until I saw the sunset but , on it's own it needed a focal point so I used the flower. A little noisy at the bottom but beggars can't be choosers. This is the picture I might use for the theme shoot group as the theme is flowers.

So this is today's photo, it's a pack of playing cards I keep in my desk, I don't use them , I just keep them there. Thought this would make a good picture with the contrast of the colours and lines around the heart in the middle of the photo. Ace of hearts or ace of love? Started doing a theme shoot group on Flickr, so I shall let you know when one of the project 365 photos is of the theme.

So today's one is a little bit rubbish. I've been studying all day for my exams so I haven't had much time to take photos and I think this may be the case for the next few days. This is the inside guard of one of my Epees. It was in the bag by my desk and I thought it would make an acceptable photo. Anyway,

One month in and these are the two photos I have for you today. The top one I took just after the storm left. I went for a walk around campus for the photo and decided that this would make a good shot. The second was taken on the path back to my house. The camera was set at a high aperture and long exposure and I just walked back holding the camera beside me. The lights are street lamps. I hope you've enjoyed the blog so far,

My girlfriend and I thought it would be a good idea to feed the ducks on campus, one because she wanted to, and two because I wanted some pictures. I like the one of the single duck with alot of bokeh, because it's focused nicely on the eye. The other photo of lots of ducklings is cute! :-P

Ok so two for today. My original idea didn't pay off, I made the rookie error of thinking I could change lenses faster than a train travelling 100 yards, ahh well , live and learn. The top photo is the front bars of one of the luggage trolleys at the station where the coating is starting to decay and peel off, and the bottom photo is of the failed electrical test sticker on the vending machine in the Boots staff room. ( We don't use the machine)

Two for you today:

So I walked all the way to the church and did some shots for HDR (didn't post the final product because I seem to be doing HDR all the time at the moment and this one didn't come out very well) but on the way back I came across a small group of daisies which I took a picture of and the bokeh is quite good. For anyone who hasn't ever watched any digitalrev videos on youtube DO IT!! The guy is pretty funny and obsessed with bokeh!

Just before getting back home I walked past this farm gate which I almost ignored except for the sign on the gate. It's pretty old so I guess it was just left there after the foot and mouth outbreak. I think the sign works well with the black and white.

Well this is a last minute shot. I went taking photos on campus and they didn't come out as well as I was wanting. This is a bunch of coins sat on a five pound note. I set it up as a 5 shot HDR and then cropped it quite a lot to get this shot. Hope tomorrow won't be such a rush to get a photo.

Day #21

So today's photo is of a disused railway station in Folkestone, UK. It's the Folkestone Harbour Station and was in regular service until 2001. In 2009 the line closure began. I have wanted to shoot this building for a few weeks now after locating it on a map. I thought however, that it was closed to the public but, although it's a decaying building and I would have thought all access would have been closed due to health and safety, you can just wander in! Hope you like the HDR, tried not to over do it, but I guess it's all subjective. Hope any regular followers I have are ok!

So, 20 days in and still posting them right up to the deadline! This is a risk board set out as if a game were being played. It has been pointed out to me that the battalion between the cannon and the cavalry takes away from the image, but hey, it's late.

Ok so two for you today, a moody black and white hand and a happy love heart made from smarties! I thought the hand needed something in it but everything I tried wouldn't work so I just went with the hand as it is. The Smarties love heart was a spur of a moment thing and , yes I was a bit rubbish at being all manly , because it's for my girlfriend :-P

So this is today's photo, I tried some HDR and it came out quite well, next time a higher F number maybe to get a little bit more detail, but other than that it was pretty good. If you click the picture it'll take you to the Flickr page where you can see the HDR of the inside of the church.

So today there are three photos because I couldn't decide on which one I liked the most. The boat one I like because of the flapping flag, I like the colours in the fish basket picture and I like the one taken while driving because it's a new way of experimenting with the camera. I took these when I went out to Deal tried some HDR but failed miserably so I might try again tomorrow.

So today me and my brother spent most of the day out with the guys from East Kent Cameras, a Flickr group who do a lot of Flickr meets, and today's was in Dover at the Grand Shaft and the Drop Redoubt. This is of the Grand Shaft looking up from the bottom, It's a massive underground set of stairs. Its a triple helix meaning that there's 3 sets of stairs going round each other, Impressive stuff.
